Kinsmen TV Bingo Celebrates its 50th Anniversary
In 2023, Kinsmen TV Bingo is celebrating its 50-year anniversary. To mark the occasion, the Cornwall Kinsmen Club is introducing a progressive jackpot that everyone can enjoy. Since the start of the millennium, the Kinsmen club has donated $2.2 million to over a hundred organizations. All thanks to the proceeds from the Kinsmen TV Bingo. The Kinsmen President, Claude Legault, explained that all of the donations go to local food banks, hospitals, and high schools.
The Importance of the Kinsmen Club
The Kinsmen Club of Cornwall first opened its doors in 1933. Their primary concern is with supporting and uplifting the organizations and events in Cornwall and the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (or SDG). For the past 50 years, the club has been organizing a Music Festival, a Farmers’ Market, girl’s hockey and softball, and has been running a TV Bingo. In 2023, the Kinsmen TV Bingo is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the club has decided to launch a progressive jackpot in its honor.
But the Kinsmen club doesn’t just stop at organizing events. It also donates a large chunk of its proceeds to charities and establishments in the Cornwall and SDG areas. They have funded high schools, hospitals, food banks, etc. According to a recent statement, since 2000, they have managed to donate over $2 million to 120 local organizations and establishments. And it doesn’t end there. The Kinsmen Club’s bingo game hands out over $100,000 annually to its bingo players. Starting in 2023, the Kinsmen Club will also run a progressive jackpot, as we have already mentioned.
The Progressive Jackpot
When many hear progressive jackpot, they often think of slots. However, the Kinsmen Club will apply their progressive jackpot to their wildly successful bingo games. The jackpot will serve as an additional prize to any player who gets Bingo in 50 or fewer numbers.
The progressive jackpot will start at $500 and will grow by $100 each time it isn’t won, or until it reaches the maximum of $2000. Once it hits $2000, it will be awarded to the evening’s winner, regardless of the circumstance. At which point it reverts back to $500, and the whole process starts all over again.
